I was adamant on having a Caribbean wedding, and my fiancé John had no choice but to give in. He was madly in love with me…..and still is. We got married in the Caribbean and it was the most beautiful day in my life. The staff at the Caribbean luxury resort where we booked our wedding went out of their way to ensure that everything went ahead with clock-work precision.
Tina, our wedding coordinator met us a few days before the wedding to help us work out the finer details such the venue, flower arrangements, and the menu. It didn’t take us long to decide what we wanted, as Tina had a number of photos and videos of weddings held earlier. They were really impressive.
I opted to get married in a gazebo, which was set up with a small table and beautiful flower arrangements. The wedding ceremony took half an hour after which we had our first dance. I must say that I have never seen a lovelier cake that the one that was there that day. It was a three-tier frosted cake topped with beautiful red and white roses.
We didn’t use the hotel’s photographer as my sister Madeline offered to take the pictures for us. After the ceremony and the cake-cutting, we went around the Caribbean resort taking photographs. Once done we headed for the restaurant where champagne was served on the house and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We had a live band in attendance and literally danced the night away.
We flew back to Florida a few days later and all of us were eagerly waiting for the photographs. Madeline sheepishly came home one evening and told us that she had managed to lose the box where she had stored the films. All efforts to find it were in vain. I was really upset.
Here I am in the Caribbean again. It’s our first wedding anniversary and John and I are renewing our wedding vows in the same resort. We have invited the same people who came to our wedding. By the way, Madeline is footing the bill.
